Summer Wedding in Northeast Iowa | Adam + Skyler

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places, and Adam and Skyler's is no exception! They met in August 2020 on Tinder—of all places! As it turns out, they had more in common than they ever imagined. Both grew up showing cattle, and just a week before connecting online, they had unknowingly been at the same cattle show. Talk about a small world!

Adam made the first move with a cheesy pickup line: “Finish the slogan… ___, Crackle, Pop.” Skyler responded with “Snap?”—and just like that, their conversation sparked. Two days later, she had his number, and by August 30th, they were officially dating. Now, nearly four years later, they are getting married—just one day after their dating anniversary!

Four days after their first Tinder chat, Adam drove to Cedar Falls, where Skyler was in college, for their first date. They went to dinner at Whiskey Road and spent the entire night talking. Even now, years later, they can talk for hours and never run out of things to say.

Adam completely surprised Skyler with his proposal on January 13, 2024, during their vacation to Punta Cana. Skyler had hinted that getting engaged on the trip would be amazing, but Adam was convincing in keeping expectations low. Little did she know, he had other plans! On the very first night of their trip, after dinner, he proposed in their hotel room. It was intimate, heartfelt, and absolutely perfect.

The best part? Since Adam proposed early in the trip, they spent the rest of their vacation celebrating and planning their wedding—with a drink in hand, of course!

Life with Adam and Skyler is always an adventure! They love golfing together on sunny days, spending date nights in the tractor during planting and harvest season, going out to eat with friends and family, playing euchre (a Midwest favorite!), cooking dinner together and trying new recipes.

Adam and Skyler got married 4 years and 1 day after their first date and it was a gorgeous, sunny August day! They were surrounded by so many family and friends who sure know how to have a good time. They took photos by the river, had a beautiful Catholic ceremony and took off on a party bus for a good time at their small hometown bar! I hate to play favorites, but this wedding party holds a special place in my heart. In fact, I have photographed 3 other weddings within this group!

Love has a funny way of finding people when they least expect it—even on Tinder. And for that, they are forever grateful!
